Barrel Porting: This procedure helps to reduce recoil and muzzle jump. This does not help or hurt your pattern. A process to EDM (electrical discharge machine) the barrel of a firearm in order to reduce felt recoil and control muzzle jump. This process leaves absolutely smooth edges that will not interfere with the path of the shot load, nor heat the barrel. Porting near the muzzle end of the barrel allows a specific amount of the burning gases of the shot to be directed in a controlled manner to counteract the action of recoil. As the projectile passes the porting the redirected force exerted against the firearm cancels most of the lifting action. Great for shooters in either hunting situations or competition taking multiple shots. Porting allows quicker follow-up second and third shots. Helps control shooter "upset" with modern high energy loads.*

Weather Coat: Tired of having to clean the outside of your gun every time you get back from a hunt? Is your gun starting to look beat up? Bluing starting to come off? Here is your answer. The very latest in firearms finishing technology. No other commercially manufactured and package firearm finishing system offers the versatility and durability. This coating is permanent and will not rust EVER. This is a less expensive alternative to camo dipping and not only is it water and chemical resistant, but it also looks great.

Shotguns - $125 (Includes receiver, barrel, stock arm, magazine and trigger guards on metal trigger guards)
Rifles - $125 (Includes receiver, barrel, magazine tubes, stock arm and trigger guards)

Lengthening Forcing Cone: We suggest doing this work to every shotgun. For your money, this is the cheapest and best thing to do to receive better results in patterns and recoil reduction. The area in a shotgun barrel just in front of the chamber that directs the shot load into the bore is called the forcing cone. In most production shotguns this forcing cone is very short and at a steep angle. We lengthen the forcing cone to 3" and mirror polishing it. By Lengthening the the surface several good things happen. Velocity is increased by reducing the sudden friction encountered with a short forcing cone. Felt recoil is reduced because the reduced friction allows the shot load to smoothly enter the shotgun bore. Pellet deformation is dramatically forcing cone and mirror polishing reduced because the shock of suddenly constricting the shot load is eliminated. As pellet deformation is reduced a more dense and even pattern is produced. Forcing Cone Lengthened............................$60

Polishing the Action: To increase reliability, smoothness, and longevity of an autoloaders action Gobbler Guns disassembles and polishes the internal parts. This process also makes cleaning the action much easier because powder residue and dirt has fewer places to collect. In a cleaner operating environment friction and wear are reduced. Most popular models of shotguns readily accept this modification and will malfunction far less often.

Trigger Work: By reworking the trigger group on most popular auto loading and pump action shotguns the shooter will experience an increased sense of confidence. By eliminating the creep, or travel, before the trigger releases the shooter gains better control over the timing of a shot. Also the anticipation and resulting flinching can be removed from the shooters technique. This advantage will make shooting much more pleasant experience.

Barrel Threading: Older shotguns and shotguns with a fixed choke can usually be threaded for removable choke tube systems. The thickness and roundness of the barrel wall are the determining factors. To safely thread the barrel a given thickness must remain after the threading in the barrel wall. Several types of threading is available. Without an accurate bore micrometer and an outside diameter micrometer it is impossible to determine whether a barrel can be safely threaded for a given thread style. With a removable choke system any shotgun becomes a more versatile weapon.

Open Fixed Choke: Shotguns without threading for removable chokes can have the current choke constriction opened. This procedure is very similar to back boring but is limited to the choked area of the bore. Most such shotguns have a choke constriction length of 3" to 4" and after opening this length will increase in direct proportion to the amount the choke is opened. Opening a fixed choke can allow a full choked barrel to safely shoot steel and other nontoxic shot, for example. Opening the fixed choke can also shorten the shot string.

Rechambering: Shotguns made for 2.75" (2 3/4") shells or those made for 3" can in some cases be rechambered for the next longer size cartridge. The determining factors are the barrel chamber area thickness, and receiver opening.
